Karin Schmid
Founder and head of the Ladies Conference
Karin Schmid is the mother of two adult children, an author, and a pastor. She is active in various church congregations and is passionately committed to bringing people together across denominational and national boundaries. She is deeply committed to a vibrant faith and the power of prayer.
For many years, she has been part of the freelance editorial team for the Christian women’s magazine Lydia. Together with its editor-in-chief, Ellen Nieswiodek-Martin, she wrote the new book "Zwischen Herz und Himmel" (between heart and heaven). It invites women to deepen their personal prayer lives, learn about different forms of prayer in tune with the liturgical year, and discover new ways to converse with God. At the same time, the book symbolizes the long-standing, friendly bond between Lydia and the Ladies Conference.
Driven by a vision, Karin Schmid founded the Ladies Conference in 2012. What began as a small gathering of women in her living room has grown into an international conference that encourages women to deepen their faith and develop the gifts God has given them. She is particularly committed to empowering and connecting female leaders, authors, and women in various areas of responsibility.
Since its founding, Karin Schmid has led the Ladies Conference with great dedication and foresight. Today, the conference is supported by a dedicated team in which women and staff from various church congregations and denominations work together. After a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ladies Conference is once again held annually and has become a place of fellowship, encouragement, and spiritual inspiration.
